Umm... New Year's resolution to post more?  Heh.

So, one day six months later, Jeff actually decides to make a blog entry.  His avid fans have been dying to know what is happening, I'm sure.

Well, I'm still here in Port Huron.  It's deathly cold here quite often, but hey, I wouldn't expect any less from Michigan in February!

Technology update: I bought myself a 17" HP laptop, and boy it's nice!  I also got a second-hand iPod from eBay, consequently sold it, then bought a 30GB black iPod from Apple refurbished.

I've been working as much as normal, and hopefully I'm up for a raise soon.

My trombone has been catching some dust, but I've been so busy that I haven't played it in some time.  That's entirely terrible, but I have no way of getting around it...

Well, that's all that has happened in the last six months, and I'm really not exaggerating.

See you all in six months, give or take half a year!

I really should update this more often.  I think I'll make that my new year's resolution.

Firstly, my van was broken into.  They stole all of my CDs, my XM radio, and my CD player.  Fortunately, my car insurance covered the XM radio since it was "installed" in the car, and I had all of my music backed up into iTunes.  The only thing I was out, really, was the CD player, and my 10-year-old Discman was probably ready to give up the ghost sooner or later anyway.  So, it stunk, but everything is okay.  Since I got my money back for the XM radio, I purchased a portable one.  It works really well.

Secondly, I had my first vacation two weeks ago.  It was my first actual vacation since I got a job when I was 16.  I got to go to Cedar Point - twice.  Once, I got to go with Pat, but we decided to leave early because he and I decided it was way too hot.  Then, I got to go with Dad, Debbie, Chris, and Bob.  That wasn't too bad, but it rained some.  At least it wasn't boiling hot.  Pat and I plan on going in September again.  I guess you can't get enough of Cedar Point.

Rollercoasters I've ridden there: Disaster Transport, Mantis, Raptor, Blue Streak, Mean Streak, Mine Ride, Corkscrew, Gemini, Iron Dragon, Millennium Force, Magnum XL200, Wildcat.  Rollercoasters I'm too chicked to go on, so far: Wicked Twister, Top Thrill Dragster.

I'm currently in the process of locating an MP3 player to purchase.  I'd like an iPod, but not because everyone has one.  I like them (versus the competition) because they store a lot of music, and the method of picking a song is more intuitive than most other MP3 players I've seen.  I suppose I'd also consider a flash-based iRiver player.  Shoot, I'd even get a 1st-gen. iPod if I could get my hands on one.  I guess I just don't want to spend a lot of money on an electronic music player.

If anyone needs a job, Staples in Port Huron is hiring electronics associates.  We're desperate.

Tomorrow begins August.  It's hard to believe that summer will technically be over in a little over a month.  I really haven't accomplished a lot, except for working and a couple of trips to Cedar Point.  Maybe one of these days I'll do something else worth actually writing about, but for now, I'll leave you with this:

"Lois, 'Who's The Boss' isn't a food."

I wish I had something spectacular and astounding to share with you, my loyal blog readers, but alas, I don't.  I just don't want anyone to think I have disappeared into the ethers.

I got to spend last weekend with my brother.  He finally got his truck back after being vehicle-less for almost 6 months.  It is funny the things one will do when one doesn't have a vehicle, like take the bus or *gasp* walk.

I get a vacation the week of July 16th.  I plan on going to Cedar Point.  Right now, nothing short of a natural disaster will keep me from going.  Hopefully I can get my brother or someone to go with me, because a day at Cedar Point alone can't be all that interesting.  All I know is that I am going.

Dad brought down a free washer and dryer.  Since my apartment has hookups for both, it was a welcome surprise to get them.  Now I don't have to depend on a pile of quarters for my clothing's well-being!

I hope everyone is having a superb evening!  I'll write more when more happens - I promise.

Happy Memorial Day!  I, for one, am not doing anything for Memorial Day.  It's not that I'm not patriotic.  It's just that it's 91 degrees outside (way too hot), and I just got off working six days in a row.

I think I'm getting used to being in Port Huron, at least from a work perspective.  Everyone at the store at least acknowledges my presence, and most think I'm doing a good job.  Even the one person with whom I've been having some trouble getting through to is coming around (at least, I think).

I believe I am still struggling socially though.  Now that I'm a "manager", I'm not allowed to fraternize with employees.  I don't think I'm not allowed to hang out with them, but one stray rumor could permanently end my career, and that's a risk that I really don't want to take.  Outside of work, I really don't know anyone.  I wish I weren't so a) lazy, b) afraid to go places, and c) paranoid about social situations.  One has to admit, though: going places alone to meet people is usually awkward at best, unless one is under the influence.  It's too bad the forced social situations of college and high school, where I may have had the chance to meet someone, passed me by.  I don't think it was a waste, socially, but it certainly didn't work out in the long one.  I almost wish I'd have found someone who was searching for the "MRS" degree!

Other than that, things are status quo here.  I live my life, day by day, hoping that the next will bring some fortune.  I suppose it's just like a guy to be indifferent about practically anything.  The difference between me and other guys is that I actually realize this. :)

Well, to whoever reads this, Happy Memorial Day, and I hope you all got to see at least one parade with a marching band. :)

I can't believe it's already May!  I've found that time flies regardless of whether one is having fun or not.  Myself, I've been having a decent time.

I spent the majority of last week in Alpena helping with the remodel that happened there.  It is kind of interesting to go home and get paid for it.  It was nice to catch up with all of my friends from work.  Five days seemed like an eternity, but it's still bizarre to think that I'm back here in Port Huron so soon.

My general manager here in Port Huron decided to make me take my vacation next week.  She said that I have three weeks of paid vacation this year, and I need to start taking it before I am unable to take any of it.  I agree with her, although a vacation so soon really is taking its toll on me as far as continuity goes.  The other assistant manager told me that I am on the "one-week-here, one-week-somewhere-else" plan.  At least I get paid time off!

Aside from that, my life is pretty much the same.  If you want to check out my new apartments, they have a website at http://www.westmooreapts.com.  My apartment is a one-bedroom apartment.  Mine looks exactly the same as the photos, sans the floof they put out for show.

I recently got a 19" LCD during employee discount days.  It's extremely bright, and big!  I am using the 19" CRT as a second display, so I can keep my messenger up on one monitor while typing or doing something else on the other.  It's kind of nice!

Well, blog readers, that's all I have for now.  I recommend the CD "Plans" by Death Cab for Cutie.  It's good!
